Hours: 7 per week

Salary: All expenses paid

Length of voluntary contract: Minimum 6 months

PAFRAS is the key organisation in Leeds providing advice and support to asylum seekers facing destitution, hardship and complex advice needs.

They have been working with a marketing consultant and designer to re-brand the PAFRAS logo and website and following the re-brand, they’d like the Communications and Marketing Volunteer to pick up the work and take it forward. There would be a strong focus on increasing their social media presence and developing marketing materials.

Role Description:

  • To develop PAFRAS Facebook Page with weekly content updates for supporters, donors and volunteers
  • To support the development of a comms and marketing strategy
  • To monitor info@pafras in-box and respond/forward emails accordingly
  • To monitor PAFRAS Twitter account, engage with followers and provide weekly updates
  • To capture the lived experience of our service users and share this across various channels
  • To develop marketing materials for different audiences including service users and supporters
  • To contribute to the development of a quarterly newsletter as agreed with the PAFRAS Director

Skills, knowledge and experience to be able to carry out this role:

  • Have the skills to be able to use Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets to engage with supporters, donors, service-users and volunteers
  • Have the skills to be able to capture the experiences of service-users
  • Awareness of the hopes, needs and experiences of asylum seekers and refugees
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Able to work on your own initiative and be a good team player
  • Be available for two x half days a week (around 7 hours per week) for at least 6 months
  • Lived refugee experience (desirable)
